James Den Ouden, Whooper Swans in Winter (Wildlife and Animal 2018)

Whooper Swans migrate to Lake Kushiro (Japan) which has a a natural hot water spring on one shore. Whilst most of the lakes are frozen over, the spring provides water, which allows the heavy swans to take the weight of their feet.
