Lachlan Hanrahan, Symmetry of the Great Barrier Reef (Single Shot 2018)

Snorkelling earlier this year, my partner and I came across this giant clam, next to soft corals that had their polyps out, a most unusual occurrence for the time of day! The understated colours, the symmetry and the sheer magical quality to the moment comes through in the photo, portraying even on the small scale, just how amazing the reef can be.
