Rory Laurens, Standing Strong (SINGLE SHOT 2020)

While on a recent trip to Esperance in Western Australia, I came across this windblown tree standing strong in the wheat fields. It reminds me that life throws hurdles that mold you into a stronger person. I'm submitting this photo to fulfill the wish of someone that I've never met but have had the pleasure of getting to know through Instagram. An incredibly bright 8-year-old girl named Prachi, whose motivation and enthusiasm to learn and help others has had a huge impact on my life. She is at the time of writing in a coma in critical condition because of a virus. She found this competition a few weeks ago and asked if I could enter a few of my photos into it because she thought they might win, with things not looking good her mum has asked if I can enter one in memory of her. So please live every day like it is your last because it very well could be. This one is for you Prachi.
