Jane McMenamin, Small Matters (ANIMAL & NATURE 2023)

Tiny birds, easily obscured by shrubbery or tall grass, often go unnoticed by the passer-by. They can be frustratingly difficult to photograph, taking off in a flash or speeding by in a blur. Yet, with stealth and patience, it is possible to capture them going about their important lives. Here, I have used a high-key approach to reveal, unobscured, the beauty of these dainty little beings.
