Ben Blackburn, Post Copulating Depature (Single Shot 2018)

In July of this year, I was driving around Wagga Wagga looking for raptors to photograph when I saw a Black-shouldered Kite sitting high in a tree near a field. I watched and got a few photos of the kite hunting for field mice. Whilst waiting for another hunt, I saw a second Black-shouldered Kite fly in towards the first bird and to my surprise they began copulating. I had the camera ready and started shooting. I kept watching to see if there would be round two and twenty minutes later the male came back in and they copulated for a second time. I shot a number of photographs from start to end. The photos span two seconds the time which the copulating took.
