Lyn Forbes, Playing with Macro (Wildlife and Animal 2019)

(Please ignore my first entry! I don't know where my brain was at!! I included 2 photos of plants by error as I was thinking about a local competition. I have re-entered the spider and the snail photo with the addition of a photo of a caterpillar and another photo with beetles.) A recent back operation forced me into table top photography until I could walk more easily. I used the recovery time to practise with my new macro lens, photographing flowers from many angles, aiming for creativity. Often I would find small animals hiding amongst the petals. They also became targets for my macro photography. The spider was a real character as he kept on jumping onto the camera, which was very off-putting. Through the lens he looked massive, but in reality he was very tiny. I have enjoyed learning a new skill, using the natural light under the pergola.
