Jackie McIntosh, Azolla Floating on the Water (September theme: Little things)

Azolla is a small native aquatic plant, a free-floating fern. It grows up to 10 to 30 millimetres wide. It is found in still or slow-moving waterways. Azolla is green in colour, but it changes to reddish brown when exposed to the sun.
