Sequoia Lewien, Anemone (July Theme: Nature's Colours)
A glimpse of Australia's first described native fungus, Aseroe Rubra. It's name is derived from Ancient Greek: Ase is "disgust", Roe means "Juice" and from Latin Ruber of course means "Ruby". There's a lot to learn in a name, while this fungus is able to disgust with its foul scent the ruby colours and anemone shape are beautiful and eye catching on the forest floor. Keep an eye out next time you're out in Australia's forest.
