When you want to learn a new skill, having someone walk you through the process step by step is often a good starting point. If you have yet to master the Spot Removal tool in Lightroom, then this short video tutorial created by Anthony Morganti will put you in good stead to start healing and cloning the spots in your images like a pro.

In less than 10 minutes, Anthony methodically takes you through how to use the tool, explaining when you might prefer to use the cloning feature or healing feature, and demonstrating the effect of altering opacity and feathering. He also shows you how altering other settings in Lightroom can help you in specific applications of the Spot Removal tool.

Moving at a pace that is easy to follow, Anthony uses two photo examples to demonstrate how you might use the tool in portrait photography to remove sensor lights or lessen blemishes, and in landscape photography to remove distractions from your image like water droplets on the lens.

If you are just beginning your journey with Lightroom, this is a really helpful video to get you started, but it would be equally helpful to watch as a quick skill refresher tutorial. You can check out the full video below.
