Olympus' new Stylus SP-100EE (EE stands for "Eagle Eye") houses a  24-1200mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens and is the world's first digital camera with a "dot sight", a feature that Olympus says makes it easier to find and track subjects at the telephoto end of the zoom range. The dot-sight pops up just above the electronic viewfinder and helps the user keep the subject in the frame by offering a wide-angle view of the scene on its semitransparent mirror.

The 16-megapixel SP-100EE features two zoom levers: one around the shutter button and an additional lever on the left hand side of the lens. The side lever enables the camera to be held securely like a DSLR, allowing left thumb operation of the zoom and right index finger operation of the shutter button. Quicker start-up and shortened shutter-time lag improves subject capture.

The SP-100EE features full HD video recording at 60p, while the built-in hybrid five-axis image stabilisation system keeps blur to a minimum. Users can shoot movies using the camera’s high-res 920,000-dot viewfinder or the 3" (76mm) LCD Screen.

This model is equipped with the same Art Filters as the Olympus PEN and OM-D series. Art Filter effects are available for both still images and Full HD movies. The camera will be available in March with a recommended retail price of $449.
