The iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) has announced the winners of its 19th annual competition, with photographers from around the world recognised for images captured entirely on iPhone.
This year’s awards attracted thousands of entries from more than 140 countries, showcasing a diverse collection of work across 12 categories, including Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, City Life, Landscape, Nature, Portrait and Series.
The overall Photographer of the Year award went to Robyn Jensen from the Cayman Islands for a photograph of a volcanic eruption captured on an iPhone 15 Pro. Taken with the phone’s main camera, which has a 24mm equivalent focal length, the image combines a star-filled night sky with the warm glow of flowing lava.
The Gold Award was presented to Gellert Gombai of Hungary for an intimate candid photograph captured on a 2017 iPhone X. The iPhone X predates many of the computational photography advances found in today’s smartphones.
