Sydney photographer's new book celebrates unique encounters with marine species
Sydney-based photographer and conservation-focused artist Rita Kluge has released a new fine art photography book, Sacred Beasts, a limited edition publication centred on marine life and ocean conservation.
Sacred Beasts brings together Kluge’s underwater photography work, focusing on intimate encounters with marine species and the broader relationship between humans and ocean ecosystems.
The project continues her long-standing emphasis on wildlife and environmental storytelling through imagery.
The book features a foreword by conservationist Juan Oliphant, adding an environmental advocacy perspective to the visual work.
The book is produced in a square hardcover format measuring 30cm by 30cm and spans 176 pages printed on 157gsm art paper.
Only 1,000 copies of the limited edition book have been printed.
In addition to its artistic focus, the release includes a philanthropic component, with 10 percent of royalties donated to Humane World for Animals.
The book retails for $125. You can find out more and order a copy here.
