Nikon has added a fast 32mm f/1.2 lens to its Nikon 1 lens lineup. The new prime lens has an equivalent focal length of 86mm, making it well suited to portrait photography, and features the fastest maximum aperture of any 1-series Nikkor lens.

The lens is the first to use Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat system which is said to reduce ghosting and flare. In addition, the lens is equipped with Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for fast, quiet focussing.

The lens is designed with a fine metal finish and is available in black and silver.

The addition of this new lens brings the total of 1-series Nikkor lenses to eight: 32mm f/1.2; VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6; VR 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6; 10mm f/2.8; VR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 PD-Zoom; 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6; 18.5mm f/1.8; VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6; and VR 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6.
