Nikon has released eight new Coolpix cameras and amongst them is a neat new feature for Wi-Fi instant photo sharing.

Nikon has added eight new cameras to its highly successful Coolpix range. The new cameras include Wi-Fi for instant photo sharing. The Coolpix L830 shoots stills and movies, and has a 34x optical zoom (up to 765mm in 35mm format) in an extremely compact body. It has a 16 megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor and an LCD monitor which is visible from a wide array of angles.

It shoots HD movies in 1080/60i format with stereo sound and it has electronic Vibration Reduction to eliminate shake in images. It also features a range of special effects, and it weighs in at 500g. It uses four AA batteries and is available in black, red, and plum.

The Coolpix S6800 has built in Wi-Fi for wireless sharing of images, a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor and a 12x optical zoom (up to 300mm in 35mm format). It also records full HD video in 1080/60i format. It’s also in a small package, weighing just 160g.

Images from this camera can be transferred to smart devices via Nikon’s dedicated Wireless Mobility App available from the App Store or Google Play.

The Coolpix S3600 follows on from Nikon’s Coolpix S3500. It weighs 130g including a battery and memory card, and it has a large 20.1 megapixel sensor along with and EXPEED C2 image processor. It also has a VR system, and a range of special effects. It comes in pink, black, red, silver, and blue.

The Coolpix S2800 has a 20.1 megapixel sensor and an EXPEED C2 image processor, and it includes and Automatic Scene Selector which selects the most appropriate Scene Mode from 15 default options. The camera also records HD movies in 720p format, and it weighs in at 121g, including the battery and an SD memory card. As with the other models, there is a range of special effects and ‘post-shoot’ Quick effects available.

The L29 has a 16.14 megapixel sensor and a 5x optical zoom (130mm in 35mm format). It has Intelligent Auto function and can record 720p format movies. It also has many filter effects and an image blur reduction capability, as well as a so-called Smart Portrait System. It’s available in black, red, and silver. Also announced were the 20.1 megapixel S6700, the Coolpix S5300 which has photo sharing Wi-Fi, and the L330, which features a 26x optical zoom and a 20.2 megapixel sensor and VR function.
