Lytro, creator of the world’s first light field camera, has updated its viewing software to allow users to interactively alter perspective and add creative filters.
Perspective Shift lets Lytro users make small perspective changes in any direction – left, right, up and down – and can be used on the web, Facebook and Twitter without the need for any special software. Perspective Shift also works retroactively on light field pictures previously taken with a Lytro camera.
In addition to Perspective Shift, Lytro photographers will also be able to apply one of nine interactive filters to their pictures to change the look of the picture based on light field depth. Filters include Carnival (distorts images), Crayon, Glass (frosted glass effect), Line Art, Mosaic, Blur+, Pop, Film Noir and 8-Track (vintage 70s look).
The new features will be available from 4 December 2012 via a free Lytro Desktop software update.
