Fujifilm Australia announces shift to 3 year warranty period

Comments Comments

Fujifilm Australia has extended its product warranty from one to three years for select cameras and lenses.

The new warranty model covers any new any new Fujifilm GFX System, X Series cameras, GF, XF or XC model lenses bought from Fujifilm Australia or authorised Australian retailers from May 1 2022.

The change is reminiscent of the move made by Canon in late 2019 to extend its warranty to five years. When introducing the change, Canon commented that it was brought about by changes in consumer conceptions of value and trust when it came to purchasing new technology.

By contrast, and perhaps sparked by the reopening of Australia to travel, Fujifilm’s new policy seems centred on putting the consumer’s mind at ease while travelling.

Shaun Mah, General Manager of the Electronic Imaging & Optical Devices Division of Fujifilm Australia said, “We know that photography and travel come hand in hand. With this new warranty, we hope to inspire our customers to explore and unleash creativity with greater confidence and peace of mind.”

To be covered by the new 3 Year Warranty period, products need to have been purchased on or after 1st May 2022 from Fujifilm or an authorised Fujifilm Australia retailer, and should you want to make a warranty claim, you will need to provide valid proof of purchase along with the product in question.
