As winner, Ross wins a 12-month print subscription to either Australian Photography or Capture.

"This image is an excellent portrayal of this month’s theme of weather," says Dylan.

"The strong leading lines created by the road and fence make for a simple, yet well-communicated composition. What makes this photo so captivating is the interplay of colour and light. The dark and muted colours in the sky and mountains provide the perfect backdrop for the golden light that illuminates the subject which is framed by the rainbow. A very well-executed image."

Over on Facebook, Matt Bradfield has won the title of People's Choice Winner with his entry Thunderstorm over salt crustswhich received more than 70 likes as at competition close.
