Following the April release of the Lightroom 5 public beta, Adobe today announced the immediate availability of the full version of the professional image-management and photo-editing software. The product is now available as an individual license or as part of Adobe Creative Cloud.

Most of the changes to the new version are found in the editing section of the program and include an Advanced Healing Brush to clone and fix irregularly shaped imperfections such as dust spots, and a new Upright Tool to automatically reduce parallax and lens distortions (to straighten objects such as buildings) and level horizons. A new Radial Gradients feature adds to the functionality of the graduated filter, and users can now make changes to preview images without the need to access the original file. This allows users to work with images that may be stored on disconnected remote drives and servers then apply the changes to the original images when they are reconnected.

Other features being promoted with the new version are improved photo book templates and the ability to combine still images, HD video, and music in video slideshows that can be viewed on almost any computer or device.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 is available now for immediate download for Adobe Creative Cloud members. Standalone software is available at adobe.com and participating retailers for $186 or $99 for upgrades.
