Think Tank launches Darklight backpacks
Think Tank has launched a new series of backpacks, marking the company's further expansion of its Firstlight and BackLight bag series, which we've reviewed here at AP.
Designed for photographers who value adaptability, organisation and durability, the Darklight series is available in two sizes and two different colours, black and montane green, and in 20 and 14L capacities.
Both bags feature laser cut MOLLE panels with 'tactical' webbing rails. MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a versatile attachment system originally designed for military and tactical use.
It consists of rows of durable, reinforced webbing allowing users to attach just about anything, and is particularly useful for gear-heavy pursuits like photography.
According to Think Tank, the new bags mean users can seamlessly attach Think Tank modular pouches to expand carrying capacity.
Additional highlights of the DarkLight bags are a plush, air mesh harness system for comfort, interior dividers and pockets for efficient packing, and a variety of easy-access pockets for essentials like tablets, laptops, and small items.
There are also side pockets for water bottles or tripods, and the bags feature high-quality YKK zippers and weather-resistant materials. All materials are treated with a PFC-free DWR-0 coating for maximum water resistance with the lowest environmental impact.
The DarkLight 14L has an RRP of $329, and the 20L $389, and are available from usual retailers mid-December.
You can find out more about the bags at Think Tank's website. We hope to take them for a review soon.
