Just hours after Nikon Europe leaked news of its existence, Nikon have now officially confirmed the D6 is in development.

Nikon released the flagship D1 digital SLR camera in 1999, making 2019 the 20th anniversary of the single-digit D series.

No further information about the camera has been announced, but it should fill the place of Nikon's flagship sports/wildlife photography DSLR.

As well as the announcement of the new body, Nikon also announced a new lens, the AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR, is in production.
