Leica has released the Leica Q3 Monochrom, the latest model in its Q family of compact full-frame cameras.

Like many of Leica's other Monochrome variants, the new camera features a dedicated black-and-white sensor and is designed for photographers who work exclusively in monochrome.

The Leica Q3 Monochrom is equipped with a 60-megapixel sensor using 'Triple Resolution Technology', offering image capture at 60, 36, or 18 megapixels, as with the Q3.

It supports ISO settings from 100 to 200,000 and can record video in up to 8K resolution.

The camera includes a Leica Summilux 28 f/1.7 ASPH. lens and digital zoom from 28 to 90 mm.

The camera has a 5.76-megapixel OLED viewfinder, hybrid autofocus, and a tilting touch display.

In addition, Macro mode allows close-focus photography at 17 cm.

The Q3 Monochrom has an IP52 rating, providing protection against dust and water splashes.

Leica says it has introduced a new user interface that separates photo and video functions with distinct color schemes and icons.

This interface will also be available for the Leica Q3 and Leica Q3 43 through a firmware update later this year.

The Leica Q3 Monochrom is now available at Leica Stores in Sydney, Melbourne, and Chadstone, the Leica Online Store, and authorized Leica dealers.

The recommended retail price is $12,090 including GST. Find out more at Leica's website.
