Kolari Atlas is essentially a lightweight (179g) filter holder system that uses magnets to allow filters and effects to be stacked on top of one another.

In addition, users can also also attach one or multiple flags to the sides of the system, allowing for light to be blocked from almost any angle.

To use the system, an adapter ring (for different sized filter threads) is first screwed onto a lens. To this, the Base Plate to attach the magnetic filters is then attached.

The magnetic filters can be stacked in any quantity and in four orientations. At launch, available Atlas filters include neutral density (ND) (2, 5, 10, 15, and 20-stop strengths), variable neutral density (VND) (2-5 and 6-9 stops), circular polarizer (CPL), VND/CPL combination, mist diffusion, streak, and infrared.

Kolari offers three kits, but they don't come cheap. Each kit comes with the Basic Kit, which includes an adapter ring, base plate, 2-5 stop VND, 4-stop ND, lens cover, and filter cover. The Basic Kit is $549 USD ($822 AUD).

The Creator’s Kit ($1,499 USD/$2,244 AUD) adds a CPL, 2-5 stop VND/CPL, streak, flare, and 1/4 mist filters to the Basic Kit. The Creator’s Kit also includes the Kolari Atlas Matte Box.

And finally, and if you want it all, there's the Titan Kit ($1,999 USD/$2,993 AUD) which includes everything in the Creator’s Kit plus a 10-stop ND, 1/2 Mist, 1/8 Mist, and 4-stop graduated ND filters, all housed in a weather-resistant carrying case.

You can read more about the system on the Kolari website.
