The new model builds on the original Mic Mini with a focus on portability and ease of use. The transmitter weighs around 11 grams and features a detachable magnetic clip that can be rotated to better align with the sound source. It records 48kHz, 24-bit audio and includes three voice tone presets, Regular, Rich, and Bright, allowing users to tailor sound depending on the environment.

Two levels of noise cancelling are included for different recording conditions, from quieter indoor settings to busier outdoor locations. As with the previous version, the system supports automatic limiting, adjustable gain control, and dual-track recording when used with the DJI Mimo app.

An updated charging case houses the transmitter, receiver, and accessories in a single unit, with a separate mobile-focused version also available. The aim is to simplify storage and make it easier for users to move quickly between setups.

DJI has also introduced interchangeable magnetic front covers for the transmitter, allowing users to customise the look of the microphone. Standard options include black and white, with additional designs created in collaboration with illustrator Victo Ngai available separately.

The Mic Mini 2 is designed to work across a range of devices, including cameras, smartphones, and computers. It supports direct connection with select DJI devices such as the Osmo Pocket 3 and Osmo Action 6, enabling wireless audio recording without a separate receiver.

Transmission range is rated at up to 400 metres when used with the standard receiver, or 300 metres with the mobile version. Battery life extends to around 11.5 hours for the transmitter and 10.5 hours for the receiver, with the charging case increasing total runtime to up to 48 hours.

DJI also confirmed that a higher-spec model, the Mic Mini 2S, is expected to launch later this year, adding internal recording and expanded transmitter support.
