Canon announces EOS R6 V camera and RF 20-50mm power zoom lens
Canon has introduced the EOS R6 V mirrorless camera and the RF 20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens, a full-frame combination aimed at users producing both video and stills content.
The EOS R6 V uses a 32.5-megapixel full-frame sensor and supports 7K RAW recording at up to 60fps, oversampled 4K up to 60fps, and 4K recording up to 120fps for slow motion. It also offers open gate recording, allowing footage to be cropped into different aspect ratios in post-production.
The camera includes in-body image stabilisation rated up to 7.5 stops, Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system with subject tracking, and eye detection for people, animals and vehicles. It weighs 688g and includes a vari-angle screen, vertical shooting support, and a front-facing record button for handheld use.
For stills, the EOS R6 V can shoot up to 40 frames per second using the electronic shutter and includes a pre-continuous shooting function. It also supports USB-C webcam output at 4K 60p, HDMI output, and dual-card recording.
Alongside the camera, Canon has released the RF 20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ lens, its first full-frame RF L-series lens with built-in power zoom.
The lens covers a 20–50mm focal range with a constant f/4 aperture and includes optical image stabilisation rated up to 6 stops.
It uses Nano USM autofocus and includes UD elements and Air Sphere Coating. The lens weighs 420g and supports both motorised zoom control for video and manual operation for stills.
Canon is also offering a limited kit that includes the EOS R6 V with a RØDE Wireless GO Gen 3 microphone system, along with updated accessories such as a tripod grip, Bluetooth remote control, and macro lighting adapters.
The EOS R6 is set to retail for $3,599, and the 20-50mm $2,199.
