Katharine Campbell, Zen Bicycle (September theme: Bike)

A visit to Kyoto's Arashiyama Bamboo Forest is a must, but none of the guides mention the wall to wall crowds vying for the classic photo of the tall majestic bamboo stems arching together to form a tunnel. It's impossible to get a clear shot. I wandered further along another less travelled path towards the river, coming upon a solitary bike parked against a fence. It was late afternoon on a dull cloudy day so I bumped up the ISO to 1600 and managed a steady hand-held shot at 1/10 sec, 16mm, f/3.5. (Canon 700D, Tamron 16-300 lens).
