Jari Cornelis, Wonderful Wildlife of West Papua (ANIMAL & NATURE 2023)

West Papua is one of the wildest places on the planet and the region of Raja Ampat is frequently referred to as "the last paradise". Most people that visit this area come to dive with manta rays or to look for the majestic birds-of-paradise. However, there are many other beautiful creatures that attract far less attention and, in some cases, can be much harder to find. In this portfolio I present some of the unique reptiles that occur in this last paradise: the White-lipped Python, New Guinea Ground Boa, Amboina Sailfin Lizard, and Pacific Blue-tailed Skink.
