Howard Moutrie, Windang Bridge (LIGHT/SHADOW - Entries close 30 September 2026)

The bridge over Lake Illawarra at Windang is a simple and rather mundane structure but the rhythm of the concrete supports have fascinated me for some time. As the setting sun appeared under the road deck it reflected off the side of the columns and the surface of the water to transform this simple and relatively uninteresting structure into an image which is reminiscent of the old European viaducts.
