Martina Ridsdale, White vases on black (MINIMALISM - Entries close 31 July 2026)

I have created a makeshift studio in my front room for my still-life photography that is situated next to a large window. I placed two large black squares of MDF as the backdrop, with one on the bottom and one on the back. Op shops were my source for the props. I placed the 3 vases in a way to create shape, form, and balance. I shot the image with the consideration for interesting negative space.
