Belinda Kranz, Waves Wipe Away Worries (Landscape 2019)
I have been drawn to water ever since my earliest memories as a child. There is something about being near the water that benefits the mind and body - reducing stress and anxiety and increasing our sense of well being and happiness. This particular series has been taken on Sydney's beaches - at Bondi and Clovelly. I love to watch the play of the waves breaking on the rocks. These were from my recent trip, as soon as the plane landed and I had my hire car I headed off to the beach to fill in time before I could check in to my motel and one photo is from this. The following day was the day of the extreme weather event, so I was drawn to the beach and the waves flowing over the pavement at Clovelly was amazing to watch and I wanted to record the flow of it. Next day saw me at Bondi Icebergs the surf was still crashing. The other one was taken at sunrise, but the reverse sunrise with the beautiful pastel colours in the sky.
