Andy Bennett, Trogir, Croatia (Landscape 2019)

On a recent holiday in Croatia, we stopped at Trogir and I had 20 minutes to run around the seaside town. The late afternoon light was gorgeous, with sunlit ancient buildings and a dramatic sky after recent rains. The Kamerlengo Castle dominated the waterfront, and after taking some typical tourist pics of it, I noticed it beautifully reflected in a large puddle. So I took another shot, trying to keep everything out of view except the reflection. Later, editing at home, I flipped it vertically and was amazed how slight ripples in the water resembled brush strokes, and the whole pic looked like a painting.
