Tim Freer, Triple Darter (Creative 2021)

The concept to have real waterbirds posing on the Darter sculpture was derived from the remnants of another previous installation in the same area. It was observed by the artist, Pete Rush, the Darters and Cormorants, in numbers, were gathering on this now partially collapsed structure. Pete had a vision to create a new installation to attract multiple birds to perch wings stretched atop the driftwood, palm, seaweed mega Darter. As you can see his idea worked. And through my lens I met the artist's brief...
