The first 3 images in this aerial series show the compelling colours and surreal flow patterns in a tailings dam in WA's Goldfields. The last image of the same facility, now empty and actually captured 7 months earlier, resembles a tumour on the landscape and starkly symbolises the impacts of mining on this fragile ecosystem.
