Georgia Wilkinson, There's nothing here to save you (February theme: Windows)
This photo was taken during a 48 hour sojourn in Frankfurt airport. To board the plane to Australia, the government required a negative PCR that could only be taken at the airport no more or less than 48 hours before the flight. Dirty plates began to line the corridors. 13336 kilometres from Darwin, the Hilton’s hallways were footstepless and muffled. Airports are lonely places to the untrained ear. If you listen carefully, past the paging calls and screaming kids, past the moving walkway’s ebb and flow, past the patter of feet on the terrazzo floor, and the Aussie inflection you haven’t heard in years, you may just hear the airport whisper — there’s nothing here to save you.
