A lone saltbush thrives in a saltpan on the edge of Lake Eyre, South Australia. The photo was taken in July 2022, as floodwaters began to meander southwest from Queensland. Six months later, the iconic lake is overflowing and the saltbush is underwater, yet its seeds will sprout once the floodwaters recede.
