Rudy Kalele, The Ouroboros Galaxy (ABSTRACT - Entries closed)
Photo captured: 19th January 2026 (especially for this competition) Place: The Ouroboros sculpture at National Gallery of Australia, Canberra Camera: Canon EOS R5 Mk2 Lens: Canon RF 24 -70mm f/2.8 L Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure time: 1/5 sec ISO: 4000 Focal length: 70mm Hand held, no flash Exposure programme: Manual Cropped and processed from RAW using Lightroom Having seen the 13 tonne Ouroboros sculpture by the artist Lindy Lee a few times, it always struck me as to how abstract the sculpture was. Though to capture an abstract image, I went to the sight late at night to not only avoid the crowd but to also capture a close up for this abstract pattern of different light though each hole with the golden reflection of the lit government buildings adding a colour break to the image. This image currently sits as my wall paper on my laptop.
