Gill Fry, The most awesome Aurora Australis I have seen!! (May theme: The night sky)

Oh what an amazing night!! There were murmurs during the day that there might be a reasonable chance for viewing an aurora on the night, so I made sure I got out to the shooting spot early. After the camera was all set up, the aurora alert buzzer went off in my pocket. Good timing! Sure enough the sky started to glow. I could see naked eye the big band of aurora. Although of course our eyes cannot perceive the colour that the camera gets when open for 20 seconds. It was the most amazing Aurora Australis that I have ever seen.
