Franco Rosin, The King (SINGLE SHOT 2023)

I ventured down to the lion enclosure at the zoo very late in the afternoon, I had almost left without stopping by but I heard a roar from afar and went down in the hope of seeing some action. By the time I arrived, they had settled down and this impressive male was quietly pacing around. I spent about 20 minutes moving around trying to find a decent angle and as he walked into a patch of light with the sun cutting across his head and illuminating his eye and some of his mane, he paused long enough for me to re-position myself and take this shot.
