Prashanth Naidoo, The Bucket Shot (SINGLE SHOT 2022)

A drone photograph on a moody winter morning in Western Tasmania, on the outskirts of the small mining town of Queenstown. After travelling to this spot in 2019, I had planned to return and capture the breathtaking backdrop behind this road bridge heading into Queenstown. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic restricted my travel plans for over a year before finally making it back to this spot. This was my first post-lockdown travel location and I chose to stay in Queenstown in order to capture my 'bucket shot.' The stay was headlined by 2 days of persistent and torrential rain making drone photography impossible. On my final morning in Queenstown, as I was losing hope of capturing my shot two years in the making, the skies cleared and I was able to capture my bucket shot, just as I remembered it in 2019.
