Karen Calder, The Beach - South Georgia (April theme: The beach)

Can you imagine landing on a beach in a largish bay and being greeted by by almost a million penguins, hundreds of thousands of sealions and elephant seals and hundreds of birds. Even though you hear about these such places and see photos and documentaries of them, nothing will ever prepare you for seeing it in real life. The sheer numbers of creatures is just mind boggling and no amount of words nor the endless photos can ever convey just how magical this place is.
