Jan Breckwoldt, Storm in Rural Queensland (Single Shot 2018)

Sometimes it pays off to bring your camera gear, even when you're not planning to shoot anything. This photo is the result of me being at the right location at the right time with my gear in the back of the car. After seeing the storm in the distance from the car it took a while to find a spot to pull over with a clear view of the clouds. The rain clouds started to form this very unusual shape which I had never seen in Australia before and eventually dump its load in a very small area while the last light of the day provided an extra touch of colour in the background at the horizon
