Fiona Pennisi-Mitchell, Still Forms (MINIMALISM - Entries close 31 July 2026)
I took this photograph with an iPhone 16 Pro, and edited it using basic PC software in Microsoft Photos. My goal is to demonstrate that artistic expression is not limited by technological access. This image explores the idea of stillness by isolating two small trees within an expanse of water and sky. The reflections create ambiguity between above and below, inviting the viewer to reimagine the concept of division. Rather than documenting a landscape, Still Forms simplifies it to its essential shapes and relationships. The result is a scene that borders reality and abstraction, where the boundary between sky and water becomes almost imperceptible.
