Anna Gottlieb, Stages (Landscape 2019)

My fascination with weather had its genesis in the stories my father told me about his work as an aeronautical engineer. He taught me all about the clouds and the power they contain. I soon became obsessed. I wanted to be where the sky literally touches the earth. Each northern hemisphere spring I now travel to where the thunderstorms roar and spark across the plains of Tornado Alley. For me there is no feeling like standing before these living, breathing, mammoth atmospheric wonders of nature.
