Jennifer McDowall, Soaking Up The Sunrise (LIGHT/SHADOW - Entries close 30 September 2026)

Just after sunrise, the soft light of a mid-winter morning filters through the trees, verandah railings and glass sliding doors, casting gentle shadows and light across the wall. After days of wet, foggy weather, the return of sunshine never goes unnoticed. Image taken with a Canon EOS R7 with a Canon 50mm lens. F9, 1/2500sec, ISO 6400. Iruginal image compressed raw (CR3) with basic postproduction of light crop, denoise and adjustment to light. A brief moment where image taken with whatever setting was currently set on the camera as pussycats don't generally 'pose' for long.
