Tim Lashbrook, sailed (SINGLE SHOT 2022)
Shot in early 2021. We had just come out of another round of COVID lockdowns (or were maybe heading into another!). I had taken myself on an afternoon walk with the intention of capturing some images around the Sydney Opera House. Unfortunately the area was cordoned off and you could not access any higher than the lower steps leading up the the structure. I pondered for a while, disappointed that the image I had in my head that I wanted to capture was not possible. Then I looked up and noticed the dancing cloud in the afternoon light. Out came the mini tripod and ND filters. The resulting 64 second exposure is an image that reminds me of that uncertain time. The jumbling, scattered clouds reflective of my thoughts about what was going on in the world, whilst the warm light and "normality" of that iconic structure offered reassurance that it really was going to be alright.
