Theresa Lee, Rex (November theme: Portrait)

Knowing that instinctively to a dog, anything unfamiliar resting on its head feels predatory to them, I was careful to work as quickly as possible to capture our dog Rex wearing a crown. Eventually, with gentle persuasion he gave me this portrait. I love this candid expression, which portrays a resigned acceptance to wear the strange floral piece on his head because he trusts me. It is the deep canine human bond I have tried to portray here.
