Allison Harding, Rex and the cockies (BIG AND SMALL - Entries close 31 March 2026)

I was spending a couple of days in Halls Gap in western Victoria this month when I walked past a home under renovation. Three builders were having smoko on the verandah - surrounded by demanding cockatoos. I walked over to say hello and used my iPhone 16 Pro to snap this image of Rex, sitting there, having fed the birds all his Cheezels. I framed the image as best I could, but needed to be quick before the birds flew away. I love that I captured Rex's side eye to the bird and his striped coffee cup resting on the couch. It's a wonderfully Australian shot.
