Jeremy Monaro, Red tennis ball Subject in the Landscape (July Theme: Red)

Subject in the landscape is an object that tells a story within the landscape. Not just taking the picture but adding space and depth to it. This involves thought and enjoyment of the process and space within it too. It is an academic formal approach thinking of the idea before taking the photograph. And a minimalistic approach. A beaten up red tennis ball tells a story. I found it at the Botanical gardens in Wollongong, NSW, this morning, 21st of July 2022. It tells a story because no dogs are allowed in the gardens. There is absolutely no doubt that the children, youth and young adults of today are glued to the screens of their computers, apps, and video games. The majority of adults spend way too much time watching Netflix or whatever streaming service they're using at the moment. There is not enough time for the children to play a game of cricket or play ball sports. This tennis ball was used so many times in the gardens that it is delightful to see that it has been played with over and over again.
