Allan Cronin, Red footed full moon,. (ENTRIES CLOSED - April theme: Night light)
While travelling between Perth and Broome, Western Australia, just as the sun was setting, this red-footed booby decided our ship’s anemometer would be its lodging that evening. This inhibited our ship from being able to read the wind accurately. However, the captain generously allowed the bird to stay. It was a full moon on this night, so I came back to the bird after dark. In between sleeps, the bird took some time to preen. For a very brief moment, the bird’s behaviour, the gentle rock of the ship, the full moon and my camera aligned.
