Maria Spindler, Rainbow bee-eaters (ENTRIES CLOSED - January theme: Summer)

This season for the Rainbow bee-eaters has been amazing. I had never seen one of these birds before. Then found out that they were breeding near-by. Rainbow bee-eaters can be found during the summer in forested areas in most of southern Australia, excluding Tasmania. They migrate north during the winter into northern Australia, New Guinea, and some of the southern islands of Indonesia
