Pat Martin, Purnululu (February theme: Amazing places)

Purnululu National Park is UNESCO World Heritage listed; the 350-million-year-old, striped sandstone domes of the Bungle Bungle Range, usually seen from the ground, can also be viewed and photographed from the air, providing an awesome photo opportunity. This photo, taken from a helicopter, shows the edges of some of the many outcrops of rocky domes, an ancient creek bed and flowering wattles stretching into the far distance.
